Job Applications At Walmart Attract High School Seniors

If you haven’t been living under a rock you know the world has been in a serious financial crisis, minimizing the chances of getting hired to a decent job out of high school or college.  Now, job applications at Walmart are almost a precious commodity, and rightly so.  The truth is, these positions have always been a great choice to start a fresh career and flourish with its career advancement possibilities.

Sometimes, teenagers fore-go college for the work force either temporarily or permanently.  Every parent would like to have their children go off to college, but the fact remains only 35-45 percent of college grads go on immediately to college.  This leaves the other 55% or so percent to fend for themselves in the employment market; enter a job application for Walmart.

The good news is this retail chain has more high school graduate success stories than you can shake a stick at.  A great example is 27 year Josh Baudin, of Tampa, FL, who started out stocking shelves as an associate in 2000 after high school and is currently a store manager raking in more than $83,000 a year, or Elvin Grayson out of Nashville, TN, who received a GED and also began as an associate cashier and left the company to start his own business, building a million dollar empire using many of the customer service techniques he learned at Walmart.

These are but a few real-life examples that prove not attending college right away is not the end of the world.  It still makes far more sense to try to get at least a bachelor’s degree; you’ll generally have a much more lucrative career no matter where you go.  However, if you are not the college type or if you simply want to explore other options rather than attending college right after high school, consider a Walmart application and set career goals to include college when you’re good and ready!
